Good Friday Hike to Masasa Beach in Tingloy, Batangas

This post is based on my memories of what happened during our trip to Masasa Beach in Tingloy, Batangas. It was a Good Friday on that day. I, together with my friends, used to climb our Tingloy Island’s highest peak of Pinagbanderahan each year in observance of the Lent. This time, our family went for a trek to Masasa Beach, a undeveloped tourist attraction at the south face of our island.

The Journey

We started early in the morning. We carried a camping bag, some food and a tent. From our house, we walked the same path the I and Bossing used to take everyday on our way to our high school alma mater. I can still remember those days when we have to walk about seven kilometers in the morning and of course another seven kilometers in the afternoon just to attend our classes. The path follows the shoreline so we always have a view of the beautiful sea and the shoreline.

Our trek brought back memories of my high school days. The view is still almost unchanged. The calm and serenity of the place still feels the same.

Utoy got tired after a few steps 🙂

We stopped for a breather after passing Sitio Kabilang Punta on a place opposite the Batalang Bato Reef, a marine sanctuary.

Continuing on our journey, we saw this on one house’s front yard:

Lots of stories within this one
Lots of stories shared and even lots of angry wives for these bottles…

At Ligtasan Point, we stopped to rest and again… take some photos.

Energy drink…

We reached Tingloy National High School by about 8:00 am. I can still recall those days of studying under the trees and marching in the field for CAT drills.

Utoy may not be able to experience marching on our stage so I gave him the feel of being there.

We passed by an ambulance along the way, but we are not sure if there is an emergency.

After another thirty minutes of walking, we set our feet on the white sands of Masasa Beach.

We pitched our tent and we did what we went here for.

By the way, we met a celebrity couple there and we are lucky enough that they allowed us to take their photo, exclusively.

We stayed until four in the afternoon. After having us promise that we will come back to this place again, Utoy agreed to get out of the water and we started on our way back home.

On our way back…

We made it home just in time for dinner. Tired but truly satisfied with the experience for this day.
