Gold, diamonds, precious stones abound at the Oman International Exhibition Center where the Muscat International Jewellery and Gold Exhibition was being held. This was the sixth of this kind of event but the first one that we attended.
Bossing got excited when I first told her of this event so she has been dreaming of this for about a month now. Yesteday, we had the chance to see the exhibit but there is one slight problem which is somewhat an advantage for me. Upon coming to the venue, there was a sign that says: Children under twelve years of age are not allowed to enter.
The organizers set up an area with chairs for children to sit and wait while their parents are roaming around the exhibit. Bossing however was hesitant to leave Utoy with the other kids. So one of us has to stay with Utoy while the other gets inside and view the exhibit and buy if necessary. The organizers should have told about this in their advertisements because this is a major disappointment for most of the visitors.
She went first while I stay with Utoy and keep him from getting bored. After 2 and a half days, she emerged from the exhibit, about half an hour actually, with some items. It was my turn so I left them outside and I went to see what’s inside.
The displays were just so mind-boggling. I was like a kid given with a box of chocolates that I could not decide which one to take. But unlike that child, I ended up taking nothing. If only Bossing is with me, I could have bought her an item that she likes (wink here, this is the advantage of taking a child that I am talking about).
For now, we look forward for the next year’s exhibit. You may join us but we have to consider two very important things. First, you should take a lot of money which is a requirement for full appreciation of the event. Second, take a nanny with you so that you can leave your children outside and you get to enjoy the exhibition more.
