It’s a Friday. And here in the Middle East, Friday is a non-working day. They call it Yom al-Jumah which is a weekly holiday for them. Families come together and share stories of the week. And so it is holiday for us too.
Our small group decided to check on the Old Ibra town nearby which is famous for its ruins of old buildings.

It feels like we were in a different era upon entering the place. The place is so quiet and almost frozen in time.

We marveled at the buildings which were made out of only mud, stones and resin using primitive tools. These buildings here have been said to rise even up to four floors.

The doors and archways of some of the buildings are still almost intact and the Arab’s signature ornate art can still be seen on each door.

The old timers enjoyed glimpses of the past in this place but the children appreciated this one even more. It’s playtime!!!

On the way out we saw some Pinoy friends, and being Pinoys means… what else is there to do other than “Kodak time”.

This is another day well spent and one that will be part of The Nomads’ history here in Oman.
I hope you enjoyed reading. Leave your comments, suggestions or questions below.
See you in my next post, fellow nomads.
